However, slapping the doser paddle a million times to achieve a "grind on demand" espresso is cumbersome and inefficient. Additionally, these dosers tend to leave a preload of ground coffee stuck in the exit passage, compromising the flavor.

Installation takes less than 30 minutes and you will only need screwdrivers and a pair of pliers.

REMOVING OLD DOSER
1. Unplug grinder remove hopper and lay on back.
2. Remove bottom plate. There is a chance of electric shock even when unplugged!
3. Remove screws of the portafilter support. Use pliers to grasp retaining nuts.
4. Remove the two screw/bolts located under the doser lid on either side of the coffee exit chute.
On some models they are screws and on other they may be 4.5mm bolts (needle nose plier work well)
5. Gently tilt the Doser and lift up to remove. The old gasket may tear that's okay because we
the MALLARD has a built in 0-ring.
6. Remove old gasket if desired.

MALLARD KIT INSTALL (see included reference diagram)
1. Attach the "Platform", use "nut bar" for easy install.
2. *Attach "Foot" if needed. This is provided as an extra incase the original is missing.
3. Reinstall bottom plate
4. Attach "Spout Plate" with included M4x8 screws (those fancy looking ones). Inspect the rubber ring that is seated.
5. Press "cap" on "Spout Plate" to snap in place.
6. Gently push "Adapter," "Bellows" and "Bellows Lid" to the hopper port.
